Who We Are
Built in KZN, made for South African classrooms
Matesa Edu-Resource is a South African learning tools company focused on early years and Foundation Phase. We design Montessori-inspired games and kits—blocks, pattern tiles, sorting trays, bead strings, story dice and more—that build language, early maths, logic and fine-motor skill.
Everything starts from real schools and ECD centres: crowded rooms, mixed abilities, limited devices and very real time pressure. We co-design with teachers and practitioners so activities are easy to set up, quick to explain and simple to pack away, even when you’re managing large groups on your own.
As part of Kairos Media Group, Matesa works alongside training, publishing and content teams to support education programmes from first prototype to roll-out across provinces.
What Sets Us Apart
Learning Tools Engineered for Real Classrooms
Play-First, Screen-Light
Children move, touch, sort, count and tell stories. Screens stay in the background so focus stays on relationships, language and concrete experience.
Non-toxic materials, rounded edges, wipe-clean surfaces and simple storage boxes keep kits safe and easy to manage. Replacement parts and refill packs keep sets complete for years, not just one term.
Quick activity cards in plain English, with options in isiZulu, isiXhosa and Sesotho where needed. Short, WhatsApp-friendly tips help parents and caregivers use the games at home without extra pressure.
Our Future
Building Play-Based Learning Systems
By combining robust physical kits, clear facilitator support and practical monitoring, we help education partners build learning systems that keep improving long after the first delivery.

What Clients Say
Our NGO team works across communities and programmes. The Kairos training helped us simplify our reporting, improve internal communication and stay focused on the people we serve.
The training was grounded in our real service challenges. Staff walked away with scripts, checklists and confidence – not just theory. That builds trust in the process.
